Creating the opportunity to raise educational attainment and promote a value of lifelong learning is one of Tigers Trust's priorities as an organisation.

The Tigers Trust, in conjunction with the EFL Trust and the University of South Wales, is providing an opportunity to undertake a degree in FD/BSc Sports Coaching and Development or Community Football Coaching and Development.

Weekly engagement with the course will take place at the Tigers Trust Arena, however, both courses are delivered and accessed by the University of South Wales where students will have the chance to gain more than 500 hours of coaching experience.

On the course, students will study modules including:

Introduction to Sports Development
Sport Placement
Physical Education and School Sport

Ellis Oliver works as a Partnership Manager at the Trust, and says the degree is both a “fantastic” and “unique” opportunity for young or mature students to develop their expertise and experience in sports coaching.

Ellis said: “The beauty of both the Sports Coaching and Development or Community Football Coaching courses is that students can study for a degree without the pressures of having to move away from home.”

The degrees will provide graduates with the skills to work in roles such as a Community Manager, a Social Inclusion Officer and a Sports Development Officer.

Applications for this course are now directly through UCAS. When selecting institution and course, search for 'University of South Wales' followed by the course name you wish to study.
