The Tigers Trust were proud to host an Inspiration Event for secondary school pupils across Hull and East Riding yesterday.

The Event saw participants from our Premier League Inspires project take part in a range of activities at both the Tigers Trust Arena and the MKM Stadium.

The day began with a presentation from motivational speaker Adam Corbally who spoke about his career so far, whilst also teaching the students some valuable lessons around resilience and perseverance.

Following the conclusion of this session, one PL Inspires participant said that they “learnt from the day that nothing is impossible."

“It has inspired me so much that I want to make a small shop selling my art when I leave school”, she continued.

The students also got the chance to line up in the tunnel where some of their idols stand every week during a stadium tour around the MKM Stadium.

The tour ended with the participants meeting members of Hull City’s media team who offered advice and information about careers in football and sport.

One student said that despite “not being a fan of football”, they still found the tour and discussion “super interesting”.

The activity at the Tigers Trust Arena saw the Army deliver a range of team building and communication activities to students to put in to practice a range of skills developed in the classroom.

The Trust’s Secondary School Partnership Manager Ellis Oliver said that days such as this “are aimed at putting into practice a range of skills developed in sessions with staff over a period of weeks in school by interacting with guest speakers and other local organisations.”

“It is also a great opportunity to raise aspirations and engage more broadly with the football club including seeing the inner workings of the stadium and meeting club staff.

“We had approximately 60 students with us today, and it was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and hear they have all taken something positive away from the day.”
