As part of Care Leavers Week 2022, the Tigers Trust paid tribute to those Care Leavers who are no longer with us today.

The Care Leavers Memorial Shield takes place every year and sees Care Leavers take on their Personal Advisors in a game of football.

Hull City scholars Anthony Onoh, Ben Voase, Keegan Green, Sam Opoku took charge of the two teams, and it was the Personal Advisors, managed by Ben and Keegan, who would come out victorious with a 4-0 victory.
Speaking about the event, the Tigers Trust’s Social Inclusion Manager Kayleigh Jackson said:

“The Care Leavers Memorial Shield is always well attended, and this is testament to the hard work, dedication and passion that the Personal Advisors have within their roles.”

“It’s always great to see the professional relationships the staff have with the young people and the match was played in great spirits and it’s always a fantastic occasion to bring everyone together.”

“Every month we run a sports session for young people who are receiving support from the Hull City Council Leaving Care Team and these sessions are now recognised by the Care Leaver Covenant.”
