Hello guest
Your basket is empty
Today, we were delighted to host an Active Through Football event at the Tigers Trust Arena, where we welcomed participants from our Active Through Football programme alongside counterparts from Leeds United Foundation.

Both teams, comprising members from our international communities and refugees, embody the target demographic for our ATF initiatives.

The Active Through Football programme ran In partnership with Hull City Council and Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd (HCaL), endeavours to address inequalities by offering diverse activities and opportunities for two specific groups: young people aged 16-19 and individuals from black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Recently, participants from our Active Through Football programme formed a team known as 'Acorn FC,' uniting residents from Welcome House with the goal of establishing a club. Despite encountering challenges in acquiring essential equipment, particularly match kits, the Tigers Trust, with the backing of the Active Through Football programme, stepped in to provide support.

Today, as we welcomed Leeds United Foundation to the Tigers Trust Arena, 'Acorn FC' marked a significant milestone by participating in their inaugural competitive inter-city Active Through Football match. The spirited encounter unfolded with a display of brilliant counterattacks, impressive passing plays, and fierce battles, as both teams showcased their passion for the beautiful game.

However, despite their fantastic efforts, Acorn FC unfortunately suffered a 5-2 defeat against Leeds United Foundation.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, contributing to a memorable match and camaraderie between the two teams.
