To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Premier League Kicks programme, the Tigers Trust held an intergenerational event yesterday evening.

Participants from both our Premier League Kicks and Walking Football programme took part in both a football session and workshop at the Tigers Trust Arena.

The football session saw the group take part in a Walking Football tournament in which the groups crossed over to create mixed teams.

The workshop challenged the young participants to match personal facts to the individual Walking Footballer.

Graham Hamilton, a participant at our Walking Football sessions, said: “It was a great event, and it was really lovely to meet the participants from our Premier League Kicks sessions and to celebrate the success of the programme in our community. I’d definitely love to see more events like this in the future!”

Since it began, more than 440,000 young people have participated in Premier League Kicks football and multi-sport sessions held at community venues across England and Wales.

The programme started with four pilot clubs and is now run across 936 venues by 90 Premier League, English Football League and National League sides – all funded by the Premier League.

In Hull specifically, the Premier League Kicks programme has been running since September 2010 and has engaged with over 10,000 young people.
