The Tigers Trust Arena is to become a hub for boot donations as the charity looks to tackle the increased cost of living.

Back in April, a group of girls from the Trust’s Premier League Kicks programme started a social action initiative in which they appealed for unwanted boots.

The girls wanted to highlight that sport is for everyone and that any barriers to participation, such as not having the right kit, should be eradicated.

Members of the local community, Hull City, Hull City Academy and Umbro donated a large number of boots which were then cleaned by Hull City first-team players, the young people who had the initial idea and members from the Trust’s walking football activities.

These have now been donated to those most in need in the Hull and East Riding community across the charity’s various sessions.

Tigers Trust staff have since noticed though that they’ve seen a rise in participants who are in need of the correct equipment which would enable them to engage with physical activity.

The Trust is now appealing for donations of old or unwanted football boots that can be passed onto someone who doesn’t have access to any.

Donations are able to be dropped off at Tigers Trust Arena between the hours of 9am and 8pm Monday to Friday (please contact Tigers Trust to confirm opening times if you are looking at dropping off after 5pm).

Thanks to everyone who has so far donated boots as part of the appeal. These will really help make a difference to the lives of people across Hull and East Yorkshire.
