Hello guest
Your basket is empty
At the Tigers Trust, we are aware that the festive period can be a tough time for many. We are proud to offer safe spaces that encourage people to reach out and speak out.

In the past week, we have held activities at the Tigers Trust Arena for those on our health and wellbeing programmes.

Last Wednesday saw us host a coffee morning for our Tigers Team Mates participants, and this Monday saw us put on a five-a-side tournament for attendees of our Tigers Together sessions.

The Tigers Team Mates programme supports members of the local community aged 55 and over who feel isolated or lonely.

The support can take many forms, and the Tigers Team Mates team have come up with an array of ideas to help, which includes phone calls and help with picking up essentials, such as shopping and prescriptions.

Donna Smith, who works on our Tigers Team Mates programme, said: “It was amazing to finally put a name to faces to bring people together and seeing new friendship groups formed.

“We also discussed running future sessions, such as table tennis and crafts, which is really exciting as we head towards 2022.”

If you would like any further information about the programme, or would like to signpost someone you know, please email [email protected]
Monday’s five-a-side tournament saw 40 Tigers Together participants take part before being treated to pizzas in our cafe.

Our weekly Tigers Together sessions provide a safe space for those living with depression, anxiety and schizophrenia to come together and develop their skills and feel better about themselves.

Paul Wray works on the Tigers Together sessions and said the night was “a great event to round off a tough year for everyone”.

“For some of these participants, it might be the last chance they get this year to interact and talk to people”, he continued.

Despite a challenging year at times, we continue to improve the health and wellbeing of our local communities through activities which promote safe, healthy and happy lifestyles.

Everyone at the Tigers Trust would like to wish all of our participants a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
