On the 11th of November 2021, the Tigers Trust hosted the Utilita Girls Cup at the University of Hull.

27 teams took part in the tournament, made up of pupils from secondary schools around Hull and East Riding.

Ellie Tanser, Premier League Kicks Female Engagement Lead at the Trust, said: "It was brilliant to see over 200 girls being active and having fun!"

"For a lot of the schools this was the first time they had played any sort of fixture since the pandemic so it was an absolute pleasure to be able to provide them with this opportunity.

"Every game was played in great spirits and all the girls had smiles on their faces throughout.

"A huge well done and thank you to all the teams taking part, and congratulations to South Hunsley (Whites) who won the tournament."

The coach of the winning side, Laura Bramhill (pictured below), admitted that she was proud of her team's performance throughout and also praised the structure of the event.

"We absolutely loved being involved. There was a really good atmosphere and feel about the place," she said.
"I’m so proud to have seen my team win and it was great to see them given that opportunity to play football. I could see the girl’s confidence growing game after game.

"The tournament was really well organised and structured too!"
Local stars Jacob Greaves and Keane Lewis-Potter came down to hand out the trophy and awards to the winning team.

The Hull City pair also kindly took the time to get pictures with all of the girls.
