On Sunday 3rd April, South Hunsley U13 Girls will represent the Tigers Trust and Hull City at Wembley Stadium in the final of the EFL Girls Cup.

With just a few days to go now until the big day, Tigers duo Regan Slater and Tyler Smith surprised the girls at their school on Tuesday afternoon.

The players offered words of support and advice on how to handle nerves ahead of such a momentous occasion.

The girls have progressed through rounds in Hull, Sheffield and Derby and will now play in the capital before the Papa John's Trophy final between Rotherham United and Sutton United.

The journey started back in November when the girls won the Local Finals in front of Hull City stars Jacob Greaves and Keane Lewis-Potter at the University of Hull.

A trip to Sheffield followed for the Area Finals in January which again saw the team come out victorious.

The girls then booked their day out to Wembley with victory over Wigan at the Regional Finals in Derby at the start of March.

Ellie Tanser, Female Engagement Lead at the Trust, has been with the team at every step of the way and is incredibly proud of the team’s achievements.

“We are so proud to have South Hunsley representing the Tigers Trust and Hull City at Wembley,” she said.

“The girls have done amazingly so far, particularly in the last round when they played a tough Wigan side in the final, but their determination and desire saw them come out on top.

“Whatever the outcome on the day, I’m sure the girls and their families will remember the weekend for many years to come.”

The Tigers Trust would like to wish the very best of luck to the South Hunsley U13 Girls ahead of Sunday. No matter what the result, you have all done remarkably well and you should be incredibly proud of your achievements.
