On Wednesday 6th April, students from the Tigers Trust’s Premier League Inspires programme were invited to attend a special event at Bishop Burton College.
The Premier League Inspires programme targets students who are at risk of not reaching their potential, giving them the chance to learn new skills and to help them become more aware of next steps in education and the working world.
Over 50 young people took part in a range of activities throughout the day, such as first-aid and fire training with Lessons 4 Life and Humberside Fire and Rescue respectively.
They also had chance to ask questions to current Hull City academy stars McCauley Snelgrove and Harry Lovick about their careers so far and how they got into football.
Speaking after the event, the Trust’s Premier League Inspires Lead Ellis Oliver said: “Our Inspiration Events as part of the PL Inspires project run at the end of each term, providing partner school students the chance to take part in a range of beneficial activities as a collapsed curriculum day.”
One student who attended the event from Hessle High School said: “I enjoyed that we got to learn about the different jobs ahead of us and the different jobs available in sport.”
