Gebremichael’s influential journey to finding employment

 

Gebremichael Mulu, 29, has progressed through the Tigers Pathways programme and is now very much on the route to employment. 

 

Tigers Trust staff members Amy and Paul first met Gebremichael at Welcome House in February, a charity which helps support refugees and asylum seekers in Hull and East Riding. 

 

At the time, Gebremichael had indicated that he was looking for a role in which he could make a difference and support other people within the community. 

 

He admitted that due to various reasons, such as being able to speak little English, that he felt quite isolated and was struggling to integrate into the area properly. 

 

From here, Gebremichael signed up to the Tigers Pathways programme in which he received tailored support for several weeks. 

 

This support included assistance with his CV and preparing for interviews, and wellbeing activities such as a tour of the MKM Stadium. 

 

Gebremichael’s continued eagerness and enthusiasm has since allowed him to gain a City & Guilds Level 1 in Cycle Mechanics with local charity R-Evolution, where he is training to service bikes. 

 

He is now also an attendee of the Trust’s Tigers Together sessions which take place at the Tigers Trust Arena.
