This week, Evie Heslop a student at Holderness Academy (one of the Tigers Trust’s partnered secondary schools) was honoured with a signed Tigers Trust ball, recognising her remarkable journey and contributions.

Evie's active involvement in both phases of the Tigers Trust's secondary schools programme, Premier League Inspires, has played a crucial role in her growth, enriching not only her behavior but also her skills.

The Premier League Inspires Programme works with students in secondary schools that typically face barriers to them achieving their full potential such as low confidence and self-esteem, attendance, or social skills.

In Year 8, during the initial phase of the programme, Evie engaged in an intervention programme designed to improve confidence and cultivate interpersonal skills. By Year 9, the progression was evident as Evie demonstrated increased confidence, notably pursuing a Level 1 Sports Leaders Award which ran alongside her academic studies.

Evie, now in Year 11, has demonstrated exceptional planning, organisational prowess, and delivery skills, both among her peers and also to younger students at Preston Primary School.

With a passion for football cultivated over years of playing for AFC Preston girls, Evie now channels her leadership abilities and footballing expertise into volunteering with Preston Under 8's and U9's in her own time.

Her commitment and dedication to this role have been nothing short of remarkable. Evie's progress and development in inspiring and guiding young footballers reflect her outstanding qualities.

Presenting her with the award from the Tigers Trust was a pleasure, acknowledging her outstanding contributions and exemplary commitment.

Well Done Evie!
