In September 2019, the Tigers Trust launched its Premier League Inspires project utilising funding from the Premier League Charitable Fund. Led by our Inspires Co-ordinator, the project aims to provide young people with opportunities to learn about the world of work and develop their overall employability. This also entails working on a range of personal skills such as teamwork, communication and confidence.

We are currently working with six secondary schools in Hull and delivering weekly sessions to targeted students that have an associated risk factor behind their engagement. Throughout the academic year, the programme seeks to build closer relationships between students and staff to provide additional, focused support that ordinarily students may not receive in school.

The Trust also provides students with the opportunities to talk to businesses and other local organisations, to bring their learning to life! As the project grows and develops, it is envisaged that even more organisations will come on board to give a wealth of first-hand knowledge and experience to students.

The final stage of the project during each academic year focuses on a community social action project. This will involve students creating their own realistic and achievable social action project with support from our team and external organisations.

We will be working closely with Hull City Academy on this programme, and Academy players will come and visit the students to support with sessions and raise aspirations and demonstrate their commitment to supporting their local communities too!
