We welcomed 110 pupils from Broadacre Primary School and Adelaide Primary School to celebrate World Book Day at the Tigers Trust Arena on Thursday 5th March 2020.

The students spent the day learning about journalism in sport, the skill of skimming and scanning text, and lots of literacy activities. Pupils also managed to fit in a ground tour of the KCOM Stadium!

In the afternoon, the year 5 students then put their questions to Hull City first team players; George Honeyman and Matt Ingram in a press conference. The children had some great questions for the players regarding reading, their favourite books and their careers in football.
The children then received autographs and had their photos taken to round up a fantastic day!

Alex Lisney, Primary School Partnership Manager commented:

“It’s great to be able to host days like these using the power of the Club to inspire and engage students in reading through sport. Big thank you to the Club for supporting the event; as having the first team players, really engages the pupils and makes it a really special day for them. Hopefully the children who attended today had a great time, and it will be a day they remember for a long time!”
