The Tigers Trust was proud to host the Premier League Primary Stars Girls-Only local finals at the Tigers Trust Arena last week.

The event was brilliant as we welcomed five enthusiastic primary school teams, each competing for the incredible opportunity to represent Hull City at the regional finals.

The Premier League Primary Stars programme continues to work closely with primary schools across Hull and the East Riding, helping pupils develop physically, socially, and emotionally through the power of sport. These tournaments are a brilliant example of how schools can get involved, challenge themselves, and experience the excitement of progressing through a competitive pathway.

This six-a-side tournament, created specifically for girls in Years 5 and 6, brought together teams who had earned their place through local qualifiers held at Beverley Leisure Centre, Holderness Academy, and the University of Hull. We were delighted to welcome Elloughton, St Nicholas, St Anthony’s, Maybury, and Westfield Primary Schools to the Arena for an afternoon filled with energy, teamwork, and determination.

The event delivered everything we hoped for: plenty of goals, moments of individual brilliance, and a fantastic display of teamwork from every team involved. After several rounds of friendly yet competitive matches, Westfield Primary School emerged as the overall winners.
Their victory means they will now advance to the Premier League Primary Stars Yorkshire round on Friday 6th February, where they will proudly represent both the Tigers Trust and Hull City.

The top team from that stage will secure a place in the national finals an incredible achievement for any school.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all the teams, teachers, and supporters who got involved this year.
