The Tigers Trust Education Team are looking for a Wellbeing & Mentoring Support Worker to provide targeted 1:1 mentoring, emotional wellbeing support, and pastoral guidance for learners across our Post-16 provision.

7 hours per week (term-time only)
Based at MKM Stadium / Tigers Trust Arena
Key accountabilities of the role
One-to-One Mentoring
Deliver weekly 1:1 mentoring sessions with identified learners
Support learners to set personal, academic, and wellbeing goals
Build positive, trusting and consistent relationships
Monitor progress and record interventions to support EHCP review cycles
Emotional Wellbeing Support
Provide structured emotional support, including strategies for anxiety, low mood, confidence, and motivation
Assist learners in developing healthy coping mechanisms and self-regulation skills
Support learners during difficult periods, helping prevent escalation or disengagement
Pastoral Care
Provide pastoral check-ins, debriefs and encouragement throughout the day
Help learners develop positive routines, attendance habits, and organisation skills
Work closely with teaching staff to understand triggers and barriers to learning
Liaise with parents/caregivers where necessary (with manager approval)
Contribution to EHCP Provision
Support delivery of Section F requirements where they relate to SEMH, emotional regulation, communication or independence
Maintain accurate records of support delivered for use in Annual Reviews and LA reporting
Contribute to risk assessments and support plans
Safeguarding & Professional Practice
Recognise early signs of emotional distress and raise concerns appropriately
Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding practices are followed at all times
Work collaboratively with the Post-16 Manager, TA, teaching staff, and external professionals
General Duties
Attend team meetings where required
Contribute to creating a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment
Participate in ongoing training relevant to trauma-informed practice, SEMH, autism, and safeguarding
