Join Tigers Trust as a Facilities Officer, The role involves maintaining a safe, secure, clean and welcoming environment across the Tigers Trust Arena, including daily opening and closing checks, routine inspections, visitor and contractor monitoring, and prompt reporting of any maintenance, security, health and safety or safeguarding concerns. The postholder will play an important part in promoting safeguarding as everyone’s responsibility, helping ensure the facilities are suitably maintained for children, young people, adults at risk and all facility users to feel safe, respected and supported.
Key accountabilities of the role:
Maintenance and Contractor Management
Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Undertake minor maintenance and repair tasks where appropriate, including basic DIY, equipment adjustments, and replacement of consumable items such as light bulbs.
Liaise daily with cleaning contractors to ensure cleaning standards are met and facilities remain hygienic, presentable, and fit for purpose.
Coordinate, supervise, and monitor contractors while on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with safeguarding, health and safety, and safer working practices.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, site inspections, contractor visits, and remedial actions.
Health, Safety and Security
Ensure compliance with Tigers Trust health and safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Complete routine health and safety checks, including fire exits, emergency equipment, lighting, building security, and facility equipment.
Identify, assess, and report hazards, defects, damage, security breaches, accidents, and incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken promptly.
Support emergency response procedures, including evacuation processes and incident management.
Ensure site access is appropriately controlled and monitored, maintaining a secure environment for staff, visitors, contractors, and facility users.
Comply with lone-working procedures and all relevant risk management processes.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Promote and actively support a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
Help create and maintain an environment where children, young people, vulnerable adults, staff, volunteers, and visitors feel safe, respected, and supported.
Maintain vigilance for any signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation, inappropriate behaviour, or welfare concerns, reporting concerns immediately in line with Tigers Trust safeguarding procedures.
Support a safe environment through routine facility inspections, identifying and reporting hazards, damage, security concerns, or environmental issues that may impact the welfare of facility users.
Ensure safeguarding considerations are incorporated into all aspects of facility management, including visitor management, contractor supervision, and site operations.
Maintain professional boundaries at all times and conduct all duties in a manner consistent with the Trust's values, code of conduct, and safeguarding expectations.
Undertake mandatory safeguarding training and keep safeguarding knowledge and awareness up to date.
Customer Service and Administration
Provide a professional and welcoming presence for facility users, responding to enquiries and escalating issues where necessary
Support venue users, hirers, staff, and visitors to ensure a positive customer experience.
Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to inspections, incidents, accidents, maintenance activities, contractor visits, and safeguarding or welfare-related observations.
Produce reports and maintain compliance documentation as required.
