We look forward to his insights, leadership, and contributions in helping guide our organisation toward a bright and impactful future.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Olly as he stepped into his role as the newest member of our board.
What inspired you to become a trustee of the Tigers Trust and how does it feel to become a member of the board?
Having worked at the Tigers Trust for three years, I know first-hand how powerful and purposeful the work is. It shaped me both personally and professionally, and becoming a trustee feels like a full-circle moment. It is one of the proudest milestones of my career. I care deeply about this region, its people, its progress, and its potential. I want the Trust to continue playing a central role in that story. This role allows me to give back to an organisation that has given me so much and to help shape its next chapter from a new perspective.
What is your current role outside of the Tigers Trust and how do you feel this can benefit you as the role of a trustee?
I currently work as a Content and Design Executive at Future Humber, where I lead on storytelling, campaign creation, and visual strategy that promotes the Humber region to diverse audiences. This experience gives me a clear understanding of how to position a brand with purpose, tell stories that resonate, and build strong stakeholder engagement. I believe these skills are directly transferable to the Trust. I want to help shape how the Trust is perceived publicly, while also helping it connect with businesses and partners in meaningful ways that support its long-term growth.
What do you hope to achieve as a trustee during your time with the Trust?
My ambition is to help amplify the Tigers Trust’s story and ensure more people understand the scale and impact of its work. I want to play a role in strengthening its presence and reputation, not only within Hull but across the wider region. I hope to contribute strategically by offering insight, challenge, and ideas. I also want to act as an advocate who champions the charity’s mission, connects with partners, and helps bring others on the journey.
How do you see your role in helping the Trust grow or adapt in the coming years?
The charitable sector is evolving quickly, with both pressures and new possibilities emerging all the time. I want to help the Trust stay agile and forward-thinking, ensuring that staff feel supported and conditions are right for innovation to thrive. I understand the daily reality of the work. Now, from a trustee’s perspective, I hope to add value by helping the team step back, think big, and move confidently into the future.
Are there particular areas of our work that you’re most passionate about?
I am especially passionate about employment and creating real pathways into the world of work. I’ve seen how the right opportunity at the right time can change someone’s future. It is not just about skills. It is about belief, confidence, and belonging. The Trust is already doing great work in this space and I want to help take that even further, especially by connecting with regional employers and building programmes that open doors for more people.
What are your interests away from work/ roles as a trustee?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my partner and friends. We recently welcomed a dachshund called Winnie into our lives, which has brought a whole new level of energy and fun to our routine. She’s quickly become part of the family and getting outdoors on long walks with her has become a great way for me to unwind and stay active. I also love exploring different parts of the region. Discovering new trails and hidden spots across the Humber gives me space to reset and often sparks fresh ideas.
We are delighted to have you on board Olly!
