The Tigers Trust are proud to have launched a four-week Women’s Walking Football pilot programme.
Walking Football has incredible social benefits for the participants, providing an opportunity to meet new people and rekindle a sense of camaraderie within a team environment.
As the name suggests, it is a standard game of football where players walk instead of run, consequently creating a game with less impact.
Lisa Hunter has attended the first two sessions and admits she comes to the sessions to improve her wellbeing.
“I came to the sessions as I really wanted to improve my fitness,” she said.
“I think it’s harder than people would think because of the stricter rules, but it’s still incredibly enjoyable.
“It doesn’t matter if you’ve not played football before, everyone is really friendly so just come down and get involved!”
Sessions take place every Tuesday night (6:50-7:50pm) at Malet Lambert Sports Centre and are open to all abilities.
