The Tigers Trust were thrilled to host an exciting Year 7 and 8 Girls’ Fustal Tournament at the Tigers Trust Arena on Friday, 14th November.

This event was not only about showcasing football talent but also about creating a positive and inclusive environment where young people could develop confidence and teamwork skills.

The Premier League Inspires programme is committed to supporting students’ personal development and helping them explore their educational and career pathways. Engaging activities like this tournament provide secondary school students with valuable opportunities to overcome challenges such as low confidence, poor self-esteem, attendance issues, and limited social skills. By combining sport with personal growth, the programme aims to inspire participants to reach their full potential both on and off the pitch.

We were delighted to welcome twelve of our partner secondary schools for an incredible day of football, bringing together teams from across the region. Participating schools included Holderness Academy, Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College, Healing Academy, Liberty Academy, The Marvell College, Malet Lambert, Cottingham High School, Howden School, Sirius Academy West, Hessle High School, Winifred Holtby Academy, and Driffield School. The atmosphere was fantastic, with students showing great sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the day.

After a run of exciting fixtures, Holderness Academy faced Cottingham High School in a thrilling final, with Holderness Academy emerging victorious and lifting the trophy. Their determination and teamwork were truly commendable, and all teams should be proud of their efforts.

A huge thank you to all the schools, staff, and students who made this event such a success! Your energy and commitment helped create a memorable experience for everyone involved.

If your school would like to get involved in the Premier League Inspires programme, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we can continue to provide opportunities that empower young people and make a lasting impact.
