The Tigers Trust was thrilled to host the Utilita EFL Girls Cup Local Final at the Tigers Trust Arena this afternoon.

The Utilita Girls Cup is a seven-a-side competition for U13 girls in Years 7 and 8, culminating in a grand final held just before the EFL Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium.

The event united two South Hunsley teams, Sirius Academy West, and Archbishop, all of whom had progressed through our Group One and Group Two qualifiers earlier this month. These talented Year 7 and 8 girls' seven-a-side teams faced off in a thrilling group stage, showcasing fast-paced passing, remarkable long-range shots, and exceptional defensive blocks.

The results came down to the final game, where South Hunsley Team B triumphed lifting the trophy, earning their place in the regional stage of the competition to represent both the Tigers Trust and Hull City, next year.

Speaking about today’s event, Female Engagement Lead Georgia Field said: “It was a pleasure to host this year’s local competition. We witnessed an incredible range of talent across all three qualifying rounds. It’s truly inspiring to see so many girls involved in the game and the passion they have for the sport.

South Hunsley showcased outstanding football throughout all stages of the competition and are deserving winners. We wish them the best as they move on to the next round, where they’ll undoubtedly demonstrate their amazing talent and hopefully progress to the finals at Wembley.

Well done to all the teams who participated this year—you should all be very proud of your performances!”
