The Tigers Trust were delighted to host the Utilita Girls Cup with our Group One Qualifiers at the University of Hull yesterday.

The Utilita Girls Cup comprises of a seven-a-side competition for U13 girls in Year 7 and 8 from our community that culminates in a grand final prior to the EFL Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium.

The road to the finals begin when each EFL Club organises a local competition for all schools wishing to take part.

We were delighted to welcome six secondary schools which were Archbishop Sentamu Academy, Hornsea School & Language College which consisted of two teams each along with Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College, Winifred Holtby Academy, Kelvin Hall School and Sirius Academy West.

All teams in attendance participated in exciting matches within a league format, displaying impressive plays and remarkable teamwork throughout.

Sirius Academy West came out victorious picking up the winner’s trophy with Archbishop Team A becoming our runners up.

Both teams along with our winners and runners up from our group two qualifiers on Monday 18th November also at the University of Hull will procced to the local final at the Tigers Trust Arena on Monday 25th November.

A huge well done to all teams taking part throughout the day.
