The Tigers Trust was thrilled to host the EFL Kids Cup local finals at the University of Hull on Friday afternoon, welcoming seven local teams to compete.

The Utilita Kids Cup is a nationwide football competition designed for young, aspiring players, offering them the incredible opportunity to play at the legendary Wembley Stadium.

Open to Year 5 and 6 students, typically aged 11 and under, the tournament features teams of seven players, with squads of nine participating throughout the event.

After local qualifiers held at six different venues across Hull and East Riding, we were delighted to welcome the advancing teams: Martongate, Kirk Ella, Holme on Spalding Moor, Westfield, Arce Heads, Inmans, and Bacon Garth.

The finals were played in an exciting league format, featuring end-to-end action, outstanding goalkeeping performances, and fast-paced counterattacks. The standings were incredibly close, but Kirk Ella emerged as the eventual winners. They will advance to the regional finals, hosted by Sheffield Wednesday, and proudly represent both the Tigers Trust and Hull City.

A huge congratulations to all the teams who participated and to Kirk Ella for progressing to the next stage!
