The Tigers Trust was thrilled to welcome nine teams representing various Club Community Organisations (CCOs) to the University of Hull for the Premier League Primary Stars Girls regional finals.

Launched in 2017, Premier League Primary Stars is the Premier League's primary school education programme, designed to inspire children aged 5 to 11 by using the appeal of football to promote physical activity and essential life skills.

At this fantastic event, we welcomed under 11 girls teams representing CCOs from Doncaster, Bradford, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Huddersfield, Lincoln, York, Barnsley, and Leeds, with Hymers College proudly representing both ourselves and Hull City.

Throughout the day, we witnessed outstanding performances, teamwork, and respect. Former Hull City captain Michael Dawson and former England international Sue Smith joined us to offer advice and encouragement to the young players, much to the surprise of all the children taking part.

After an exciting round of fixtures, Hull City faced Bradford in the semi-finals, where the Tigers advanced. The final saw Hull City take on Huddersfield in a thrilling end-to-end match that featured remarkable saves from both goalkeepers. With the game ending in a draw, the match was decided by penalties, where Hull City emerged victorious, lifting the Premier League Primary Stars Girls regional finals trophy!

Both Hull City and Huddersfield Town will now advance to the national finals at Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux Stadium, an achievement which both teams should take immense pride in.

Beyond the football action, teams had the opportunity to participate in engaging educational workshops, including wheelchair sports, blind bowling, writing activities, team-building exercises, and a special chance to take photos with the Premier League trophy!

A huge thank you to all the teams for making this event so special, as well as to the University of Hull and the Premier League for their support.

Check out some of the best action below!
