The Tigers Trust were thrilled to welcome some of our Premier League Inspires partnered schools to the University of Hull on Friday to take part in an exciting boys Futsal tournament.
The Premier League Inspires programme supports secondary school students who face challenges such as low confidence, poor attendance, or difficulties with social skills, helping them unlock their full potential. As part of this programme, schools have the opportunity to participate in events like this futsal tournament.
The event brought together 10 secondary schools: Cottingham High School, Driffield High School, Holderness Academy, Hessle High School, Howden School, Malet Lambert, Sirius Academy West, Trinity Academy, Winifred Holtby, and Wolfreton School & Sixth Form College. Each school fielded two teams of Year 7 and 8 students with 5 players a side and a total of 7 players.
The day featured over 20 thrilling rounds of fast-paced action, with schools eagerly facing off against each other. The excitement built from the very first whistle to the final kick. After a series of exceptional rounds, Hessle A and Winifred Holtby battled it out in a dramatic final, decided by sudden death penalties after a closely contested match, which saw Hessle Trimuph as our winners!
A huge thank you to all the teams for making this such a memorable occasion and for demonstrating outstanding fair play throughout.
