The Tigers Trust was delighted to host its annual Matchday Takeover at the MKM Stadium on Saturday 29th March as Hull City faced Luton Town.

During our Matchday Takeover, we had the opportunity to share impactful stories and highlight the remarkable work we do to support over 45,000 children, young people, and adults in our local community. We also provided a range of engaging activities before the match, ensuring an action-packed day for all in attendance at a packed MKM Stadium!

The Tigers Trust is proud to support young people from the age of two and beyond. Whether it’s the 6,340 children benefiting from our Premier League Primary Stars programme or the 70+ nationalities engaged through our Active Through Football initiative, we are committed to making a difference in our community. Through a wide range of activities, the Trust provides opportunities, breaks down barriers, and helps individuals realize their potential - empowering them to lead healthy and happy lives.

We also invited fans to take part in our "Bring A Pound to the Ground" campaign, encouraging them to contribute by dropping their £1 coins into collection buckets placed around the stadium. This initiative emphasised how even a small donation can have a big impact, as every £1 donated translates to £20 of value reinvested into the local community.

One of the standout moments of the day was the "Junior Takeover," which gave young Hull City supporters the chance to step into various matchday roles. From assisting with the kits to making stadium announcements and even helping out as a groundsperson or media assistant, there were plenty of exciting opportunities for them to experience firsthand.

Throughout the day, attendees of all ages enjoyed a variety of activities, including performances by the Premier League Kicks Dancers outside the West Stand reception and at the Tigers Trust Arena, a Tigers Trust-themed quiz and raffle in the hospitality lounges, and Premier League Kicks participant Kasper Newby presenting the matchball ahead of kickoff. Additionally, our Premier League Kicks Inclusive participants proudly completed a lap of honour at half-time!

Inside the matchday programme, we shared inspiring stories of individuals we have supported over the past year. We also featured Hull City defender Alfie Jones’ involvement with the Tigers Trust and introduced our brand-new BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 courses starting in September!

As the teams took to the pitch, Hull City players wore vibrant tiger-striped shirts featuring our call to action for donations, capturing the attention of many supporters in attendance.

Throughout the game, our digital presence was visible across the stadium, with text-to-donate graphics displayed on the big screen, concourses, and LED advertising boards—showcasing how every contribution can make a significant impact in supporting those across Hull & East Riding.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their generous donations and to Hull City for allowing us to shine a spotlight on our impactful work.
