The Tigers Trust are proud to celebrate Youth Work Week which is an annual celebration of all thing’s youth work.

The weeklong campaign takes place at the beginning of every November this year it will taking place from Monday 4th November to Sunday 10th November.

Each year the campaign has an overarching theme to help the sector to focus their engagement.

The theme for 2024 is: A right to youth work for all – delivering positive futures for young people.

The theme aims to highlight the many ways that youth work spaces are made accessible to all, and which enable young people to explore and celebrate their own identity and values and this is what we do at Tigers Trust through our Premier League Kicks provision.

Kayleigh Jackson Head of Community, Engagement and Safeguarding said: “The role of a youth worker is very unique requiring passionate individuals to support the development, well-being and potential of young people when often they are in a period of their development which can often be the most challenging. Youth workers do this by providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment which allows young people to learn, grow and express themselves.

It’s extremely important for staff to remain informed and educated about local and national trends so they are able to offer the correct support or signpost into local organisations who can offer additional support.

We are very proud to deliver Premier League Kicks in Hull providing quality youth work through the power of football, sport, and the strength of the Club badge. Staff provide guidance and support to young people attending advocating the voice of young people, helping to informally educate them on the risks in their local community, support their mental health and wellbeing, create a culture of volunteering, social action and positive role models and help to reduce violent behaviour and develop pro-social attitudes and skills by building excellent rapport and relationships.”
