The Tigers Trust is thrilled to have partnered with Hessle Road Network in recent weeks, and we are excited to continue this collaboration as part of our Families Learning Together programme.
Families Learning Together is a FREE six-week programme designed to support parents of primary school children in Hull through key life transitions. The programme focuses on goal setting, action planning, navigating structured transitions, fostering healthy lifestyles, and cultivating a positive mindset. We also place great importance on volunteering and provide support for those transitioning into employment.
This personalised programme is tailored to your individual journey, helping you identify the best steps for your future endeavours.
You are eligible to join this programme if you are:
Aged 16 or older
Has a child and living within a Hull postcode
Currently unemployed, not in education, and not receiving training
Our partnership with Hessle Road Network - a community-led organisation offering activities, projects, and services to support local people in building friendships, confidence, and self-esteem and cope with isolation has been highly rewarding.
Through this collaboration, we’ve been able to host several impactful activities.
Last week, participants took part in a hands-on budgeting activity by planning an essential shopping trip at Lidl. This practical experience was both enjoyable and educational, with adults and children alike contributing to the meal planning process. Meanwhile, the children enjoyed engaging and inclusive activities, all led by our skilled delivery team.
We also hosted a festive celebration, bringing everyone together for a day of fun and laughter. Highlights included inflatable football darts, energetic party games, and delicious food provided by Hessle Road Network. Guests had the chance to win exciting prizes from Tigers Trust, making the event a fantastic occasion.
Furthermore, our ongoing Tigers Together sessions, held weekly at St Mary's College on Monday evenings, provide a supportive space for individuals (18+) living with mental health conditions to come together, develop their skills, and improve their self-esteem. We have recruited parents who typically attend to watch their partners play football who are generally new to parenting. We deliver these activities alongside the football session in one of the classrooms at St Marys. The group has participated in budgeting, meal planning, mindset and goal-setting activities. They have been using this time as a safe space to share personal journeys supporting and encouraging one another to overcome barriers, it has been nothing short of inspiring to see. They have shared some fantastic ideas for their futures which involves volunteering, job search and self-employment ideas in which we will focus on in 2025.
We are excited to continue working alongside Hessle Road Network in the new year, as well as continuing our work at St Mary’s College supporting our families through our Families Learning Together programme.
