The Tigers Trust, which is this year celebrating 36 years of work in the Hull and East Yorkshire community, is to hold a 36 hour football tournament to raise much needed funds for both itself and partner organisation The 360 Grass Roots Foundation.

Formed in 1990, Tigers Trust is an independent charity linked to Hull City Football Club, which aims to make a difference to people’s lives by providing opportunities in sport and education. The 360 Grass Roots Foundation, also an independent charity, helps financially disadvantaged children living in HU1 to HU9 with the cost of grassroots sport subscriptions, kit, travel and sports glasses.

The two organisations have come together to host a special celebratory fund raiser at the Tigers Trust Arena (next to the MKM Stadium) in November.

The 36 Hours, 1 Goal event will take place at the Tigers Trust Arena from 6pm on Saturday 14 November until 6am on Monday 16 November. A total of 72 teams from across Yorkshire will each participate in a one-hour match as part of this unique 36-hour fundraising challenge.

Entry costs £100 per seven-a-side team (including substitutes) and includes food for all participants throughout the event. The bar will remain open, providing opportunities to relax and socialise between matches, while a range of additional activities will take place over the course of the event.

‘It is sure to be great fun for all involved, an opportunity to network with likeminded businesses but most importantly will raise funds for two organisations that are doing great work in our community’ explained Richard Dexter, Head of Business and Operations at the Tigers Trust. ‘There will be a buffet provided, prizes, a raffle and some well-known faces from the world of football and business’ he continued.

‘I think this is a unique event’ said Andy Steele, representative of the 360 Grass Roots Foundation. ‘Where else could you have a game of 7 a side football at 3am on a Sunday or Monday morning? It will be a great team building exercise and all for a very worthwhile cause’.

There are also opportunities to sponsor the event or the food or place an advert in the official programme. It will be first come, first served in terms of picking a kick off time so interested parties are encouraged to book a place sooner rather than later by emailing [email protected] or calling 01482 358384
