Tigers Trust is proud to announce that Hull City legend Ian Ashbee has been appointed as the charity’s first-ever Ambassador, marking a significant milestone in its mission to inspire, engage, and improve the lives of people across Hull and East Yorkshire.
As the only player in English football history to captain the same club through all four divisions, Ashbee is one of the most respected figures associated with Hull City. His new role will see him champion the Trust’s community programmes, support fundraising initiatives, and help raise awareness of the charity’s impact across the region.
Ashbee has long been an advocate for the power of sport to change lives. His connection to the city, combined with his leadership on and off the pitch, makes him a powerful voice for the Trust’s work in health, education, inclusion, and sport.
Ian Ashbee said:
"Hull has given me so much, both in football and in life. Becoming an Ambassador for Tigers Trust is a real honour. I’ve seen first-hand how their work transforms communities, and I’m excited to play a part in helping even more people benefit from what they do."
Richard Dexter, Tigers Trust’s Head of Business, commented:
"We are delighted to welcome Ian as our first Ambassador. His passion for Hull, his commitment to young people, and his belief in the power of sport align perfectly with our values. This partnership will help us reach new audiences and strengthen our ability to make a positive difference across the region."
We are delighted to have you join us as Ambassador Ian!
