The Tigers Trust and Hull Fostering joined forces to host a heartwarming Christmas event at the Tigers Trust Arena, on welcoming around 200 children, parents, and carers for an evening that celebrated the true spirit of the season connection, community, and shared traditions.
The event was designed to bring joy and support to families during what can be a challenging time of year. Together, the two organisations created a festive experience filled with activities that encouraged fun, creativity, and inclusion. Hull Fostering led beautiful craft wreath-making sessions and a magical Santa’s grotto, while Tigers Trust delivered a variety of engaging activities including inflatable competitions, Christmas bingo, Boccia, football challenges, and a quiet craft space for those who needed a calmer environment.
A highlight of the evening was the Christmas carol sing-along around a stunning 12ft tree, generously donated by Hull & East Riding Christmas Trees. This tree became a symbol of community collaboration, decorated with baubles crafted by local primary and secondary schools and members of Tigers Trust’s inclusive sessions.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of Christmas gifts for every child, kindly donated by members of the public and Nurture a Child through the Giving Tree initiative in partnership with Hull City Football Club. These contributions ensured that every child left with a smile and excitement for Christmas. In addition, Tigers Trust donated all remaining gifts to Hull Fostering, ensuring that families most in need this year would also receive presents and experience the joy of Christmas.
Amy Blinkhorn, Tigers Trust Adult Engagement Manager, commented:
"This event was about more than just Christmas – it was about bringing people together, creating memories, and showing families that they are supported. The collaboration between Tigers Trust and Hull Fostering demonstrates the power of partnership in making a real difference for our community."
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to supporting families, fostering inclusion, and strengthening community ties. It is a shining example of how organisations can work together to create positive experiences that matter.
