Participants of our Street Soccer Academy embarked on an unforgettable journey on Friday 22nd November, as they visited the iconic London Stadium for the Football for Good Day, Champions Trophy.
The Street Soccer Academy is more than just a programme it’s a life-changing commitment to personal growth. Over 10 transformative weeks, participants engage in a blend of football coaching, dedicated mentoring, mindset development, and employability workshops. Designed for spirited 18 to 30-year-olds not currently in education, employment, or training, this initiative empowers individuals to unlock their potential. This year, our cohort proudly came from the Active Through Football programme.
Featuring a thrilling five-a-side tournament against squads representing Chelsea, Coventry City, West Ham United A, and Liverpool within our teams group. With 18 teams competing from across the country, the event offered an unparalleled experience, showcasing camaraderie, skill, and the unifying power of sport.
While our team displayed remarkable commitment and effort, they narrowly missed advancing to the next stage. The level of competition was incredibly high, with professional football club community organisations fielding talented young players from similar initiatives. Ultimately, it was Peterborough United and the Posh Foundation who emerged as champions.
To every participant, Your determination and effort have filled everyone, including the Tigers Trust - with immense pride.
