Olivia, a student at Broadacre Primary School on our Premier League Primary Stars programme, was surprised with a mascot experience prize ahead of Hull City’s Yorkshire derby against Leeds United on Saturday 4th January.

The Premier League Primary Stars programme works with primary schools across Hull & East Riding to promote physical, social, and emotional well-being among students.

The value of sport and an active lifestyle cannot be overstated. It plays a key role in the development of children and can have a lasting impact on their lives.

One individual who recently caught our attention through the programme is Olivia from Broadacre Primary School. She embodies all the school's values as well as the Tigers Trust’s mission, consistently engaging positively during sessions and demonstrating a great attitude in class. Olivia is the perfect example of how we hope students will engage with us at a partner school.

In addition, Olivia has been excelling in Girls’ Football sessions, both in and out of school, always eager to develop her skills whenever the opportunity arises.

Unbeknownst to Olivia, we arranged a surprise visit from Hull City midfielder Xavier Simons, who presented her with the fantastic opportunity to become one of our mascots for Hull City’s Yorkshire derby against Leeds United—a moment that brought immense joy and excitement.

When matchday arrived on Saturday 4th January, Olivia had the chance to go behind the scenes at the MKM Stadium, meet the players before the game to get autographs, take part in a skills session on the pitch, and so much more.

The highlight of the day was leading the Tigers out alongside captain Lewie Coyle in front of a full house at the MKM Stadium.

We hope you had an unforgettable experience, Olivia!
