Hello guest

We were thrilled to present Mary Nolan with the Premier League’s More Than A Game Community Captain award ahead of Hull City’s match against Norwich City on Saturday 15th February. This recognition celebrates her outstanding dedication to volunteering.

The Premier League and its clubs recently launched More Than A Game to highlight the profound impact of Premier League investment in communities and clubs at all levels of football. Between 2022 and 2025, the Premier League is investing £1.6 billion into football and local communities across England and Wales. This world-leading funding supports clubs, facilities, and grassroots initiatives, inspiring millions.

As part of More Than A Game, the League has honoured more than 100 Community Captains—individuals nominated by Premier League, EFL, and National League clubs for their contributions to their local communities through Premier League-funded programmes.

Mary Nolan, 33, first became involved with the Tigers Trust through the DS Active programme in 2012, which supports individuals in the local community living with Down’s Syndrome. She remained engaged as a participant for seven years, taking a brief break to proudly represent Great Britain in gymnastics in Athens. In early 2019, she returned to the Tigers Trust as a volunteer.

Mary’s commitment to volunteering is truly inspiring. She arrives every Monday morning with a smile, supporting the delivery of Tigers Trust’s Walking Football sessions and assisting staff in preparing Kicks session bags, ensuring they contain all necessary equipment—footballs, bibs, and first-aid kits—for the week ahead.

An excellent role model, Mary radiates positivity and energy, always greeting colleagues with a warm smile and asking about their weekend. She is a fantastic Tigers Trust volunteer and a joy to work with. Keep up the incredible work, Mary—we deeply appreciate everything you do!

Before kick-off at Hull City’s match against Norwich City, Mary was handed a Premier League-branded award box, which included a Community Captain armband, a pennant, a More Than A Game shirt, and a trophy. The presentation took place in front of more than 20,000 spectators at the MKM Stadium.

Thank you for your dedication, Mary!
