Hello guest
Your basket is empty
Despite being the only female enrolled onto our USW Sports Football Coaching and Development Degree, the course this does not phase student Honey Greaves in the slightest.

The Tigers Trust's Community Football Coaching and Development Degree, in collaboration with EFL in the Community and the University of South Wales, offers young people the opportunity to access essential learning materials and complete an engaging degree programme. This is done with the support of our dedicated staff, alongside a variety of activities designed to enrich the course experience.

Honey fully immerses herself into the modules and the practical aspects of the course. Being female in this line of work can create barriers and stigma but Honey is proving that females have just as much potential as male coaches.

Last year, the opportunity arose for Honey and other students to spend a month in Italy over the summer working on camps with an array of age groups. Here she demonstrated great independence, strong leadership skills and developed as a coach by enhancing her overall skillset.
Honey demonstrates high levels of commitment and knowledge of the course, particularly in Sports Science. She is focused and committed, always contributing to group discussion with insightful and knowledgeable opinions.

Honey is a positive role model and a true inspiration to others and shared her thoughts on the programme: “For someone who was apprehensive about going to a traditional university and being a number within a room, I think that this course offers the best opportunities and benefits to have interactions with mentors and peers because of the small sizes of groups. Because of this it’s really easy to stay on track of assignments and everything seems well organised because of the extra support you gain through the mentors.”

She also shared her thoughts on the course beyond lectures: “Although the distance learning seems like a challenge, I’ve found that it’s extremely useful to be able to go away from lectures knowing I’m able to access them anytime and anywhere if required to do so. Additionally, it’s a really unique course which allows you to gain the most experience and hands on knowledge through the placement pathways they have integrated within their way of learning meaning that if your passionate about developing as a coach or wanting to teach you have so many opportunities to learn expertise from qualified professionals involved within your chosen placements.”

Keep up the good work Honey!
