During EFL Week of Action, the Tigers Trust is proud to celebrate its ongoing commitment to delivering educational sessions for the children of the Showmen's Guild during Hull Fair, one of the most celebrated events of the year.

During the two-week fair, the Tigers Trust’s Hull Fair School, held at The Tigers Trust Arena, welcomed over 80 children aged 4-12 from Showmen's Guild families. These thoughtfully designed sessions offered a mix of educational and recreational activities, including interactive reading and maths exercises, alongside energetic sports such as dodgeball. Each element was designed to nurture key skills like communication and teamwork, while also reinforcing the Trust’s core values in a fun and inclusive environment.

To mark the end of the programme, students were proudly awarded certificates during a special ceremony held at The Tigers Trust Arena. The event was attended by John Breeze, Treasurer of the Yorkshire Showmen's Guild, and Michael Cowie, Former Chairman of the Guild. They were joined by the Lord Mayor of Kingston Upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Cheryl Payne, who also visited throughout the week to learn more about the impactful work being carried out.

Commenting about the event John said: On behalf of the Yorkshire Section of the Showmen’s Guild and the families who attended the Hull Fair School for 2025, I’d like to say that the impression of Hull Fair school was first class, the impact on the students is something they look forward to every year and it is something that is suited to the students’ needs.

Cheyrl Payne also commented: “Visiting the Tigers Trust Hull Fair School was truly uplifting. It’s wonderful to see such care and creativity being provided into a programme that supports young people so meaningfully. The blend of learning, play, and values-based activities reflects the heart of our community that are both inclusive and inspiring.

A huge thank you to all who joined us for another incredible couple of weeks of Hull Fair School.
