As part of the EFL’s Week of Action, the Tigers Trust welcomed Hull City's Lewie Coyle and Kyle Joseph to the Tigers Trust Arena, where they provided valuable coaching insights to young people on the Trust's BTEC programme during their training session.

The EFL Week of Action celebrates the powerful impact Football Club charities have on communities across England and Wales through a range of engaging events and the Trust used this opportunity to highlight the success of its BTEC Sport Courses, which began in September and continue to offer exciting development opportunities for aspiring young learners.

The courses are tailored for young people with a passion for sport, coaching, and fitness. These practical programmes provide an engaging alternative to traditional college pathways, blending academic learning with hands-on experience. Students enrolled on the BTEC courses benefit from high-quality coaching and weekly competitive football, with training sessions hosted at the Tigers Trust Arena.

On Thursday 6th November, what began as one of their routine training sessions turned into a memorable experience when Hull City captain Lewie Coyle and striker Kyle Joseph made a surprise visit.

The players actively participated in the session, observing warm-up drills before joining different groups. Lewie focused on defensive techniques, offering feedback and advice on 1v1 scenarios, while Kyle supported attacking players with tips on positioning and finishing.

Following the session, students engaged in a Q&A with the players, gaining personal insights into their football journeys, sources of motivation, and how they’ve overcome challenges. The visit left a lasting impression, inspiring students and reinforcing the value of the Trust’s BTEC programme.

BTEC Head Coach Marc Daddy reflected on the visit, stating:

“It was brilliant having Lewie and Kyle join us at the Tigers Trust Arena for our BTEC training session. They got stuck in with the activities and shared some great advice with our students, which really meant a lot. The young people absolutely loved having them there, and you could see how much of a buzz it gave everyone. Moments like this really help inspire the next generation.”

Tigers Trust extends its sincere thanks to Lewie Coyle and Kyle Joseph and Hull City for making the day so special for the BTEC students.
