Today marks the conclusion of our involvement in the EFL Week of Action, celebrating the incredible work of the 72 EFL Clubs and their Community Organisations in building stronger, healthier, and more active communities.
We were thrilled to host ten schools from our Premier League Inspires programme for a Year 7 and 8 girls’ five-a-side football tournament at the Tigers Trust Arena. Some schools even fielded multiple teams, adding to the excitement of the day.
The Premier League Inspires programme, funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund since 2019, is a secondary school initiative that supports students facing challenges such as low confidence, self-esteem, attendance, or social skills. At Tigers Trust, this project plays a vital role in helping students unlock their potential.
We were delighted to welcome teams from Cottingham High School, Driffield School & Sixth Form, Holderness Academy, Winifred Holtby Academy, Marvell College, Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College, Howden School, Hessle High School, Trinity House Academy, and Sirius Academy West. Over 20 fixtures were played, showcasing fantastic matches and incredible teamwork from all participants.
After a fantastic run of fixtures, the tournament concluded with a thrilling final between Cottingham High Team A and Driffield Team A. In a hard-fought battle, Cottingham High Team A triumphed, proudly lifting the Premier League Inspires Girls’ Five-a-Side Winners Trophy.
