Hello guest

On the second day of our EFL Week of Action 2024, we’re shining a spotlight on our Tigers Pathways Exploring Volunteering programme and its invaluable role in supporting individuals through life transitions.

The Tigers Pathways Exploring Volunteering programme is a FREE six-week programme designed to help participants navigate significant life changes. It focuses on setting goals, creating actionable plans, fostering healthy lifestyles, and cultivating a positive mindset. With a strong emphasis on volunteering, the programme also offers tailored support to help participants move closer to employment opportunities.

This personalised approach ensures that everyone can identify the most suitable pathway for their unique journey.

Eligibility for the programme:

• You must be aged 16+
• Not currently in education, employment, or training

The programme was launched three years ago, with the support of the Humber Learning Consortium over the past year. In the last 12 months alone, it has helped 111 individuals—aged 16 and over, or those who are economically inactive—take meaningful steps toward progress.

Our current cohort gathered this morning at the MKM Stadium for a classroom session to set meaningful personal goals and develop SMART objectives, all while exploring effective strategies to nurture self-care and well-being.

In the afternoon, we visited Hollywood Bowl, where a spirited game of bowling brought the group closer together, strengthening teamwork, enhancing communication, and creating a strong feeling of togetherness, one of just the many activities included throughout your time on the programme.

Speaking about the importance of the programme Tigers Pathways Delivery officer, Amy Blinkhorn said: "Tigers Pathways Exploring Volunteering is invaluable in helping participants who often feel directionless discover their purpose. Dedicated staff work closely with individuals to identify their passions and motivations, empowering them to set meaningful goals and create positive life changes. It offers a safe and supportive environment for sharing experiences and personal journeys, with the overarching aim of building confidence and self-belief."
