At the Tigers Trust we run an extensive and highly successful programme of community sports activities across the East Riding and Humber region.
Our BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies (Pathways Sports) qualification will add to our education offering alongside the existing USW Community Football Coaching & Development Degree.
The intention is to provide a practical course that supports young people who have struggled with academic subjects at school, whilst allowing them to develop their passion and interest in sport, providing them with a route into a successful career.
The age range for this course is as follows:
16-18 years (Learners can apply up to the age of 24 if they have an Educational Health Care Plan - EHCP).
What’s involved?
Two days of face-to-face learning sessions spent at the Tigers Trust Arena and One Day spent at Bishop Burton College Campus
Designed to provide an understanding of key topics in Sport, whilst enabling students to improve their English and Maths
Students will cover modules which include:
Sports concepts
Fitness testing
Playing a range of different sports
An understanding of keeping active and healthy
Valuable employability skills
