Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development 

Tigers Trust, in conjunction with the EFL Trust and the University of South Wales, is providing an opportunity for you to begin your coaching career with our Foundation Degree in Football Coaching and Development. 

About the course 

The course will allow you to study all subdisciplines of coaching and football development whilst obtaining valuable industry-recognised qualifications. 
 
The course costs £8,000 per year. Students will be eligible to apply for student finance and other maintenance loans as with any other University course to support with tuition fees.

Children’s and youth coaching 
Football coaching 
Football development 
Social inclusion 
Sports management skills. 
 
There will also be an opportunity to apply your knowledge with an extensive work-based learning programme, allowing you to work in specific roles and real-life football projects. The academic programme enables you to gain a Level 2 Football Coaching Certificate (pending a final assessment). 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

How you will study 

The course will be a mixture of classroom-based lectures and seminars, as well as practical learning. 
 
You will complete up to 200 hours of coaching in the second year to give you vitals skills for a career in youth coaching and football development. 

Location 

If you sign up to the course, you will be enrolled as a student at the University of South Wales and have online access to the necessary learning materials to complete your degree. 
 
Additionally, you will spend a minimum of seven days per year at the University of South Wales High Performance Centre – the USW Sport Park and receive full accommodation during these teaching blocks.
