Forever Tigers
Forever Tigers is a memorabilia and heritage project delivered collaboratively by the Tigers Trust and Hull City Football Club, aligning with the strategic objectives of the Trust to improve the health and wellbeing of people and inspiring the local community.
The project celebrates the rich history of Hull City, with the Tigers Trust Arena being used a ‘heritage hub’ to display memorabilia and items of interest to the community, including an array of match day programmes and match worn shirts from years gone by.
In addition to this, the project which is funded through the Premier League Fans Fund delivers heritage sessions with care homes and other community groups to reduce loneliness and isolation and improve connections between the community and Hull City Football Club.
Forever Tigers has led to cross-generational connections between care home residents and Primary School pupils. Additionally Hull City Academy scholars have stepped in to volunteer too, gaining a deeper understanding of the club’s history and developing skills beyond football.
"One of the residents told me that she hated football and didn't want to be a part of it...We started talking about a programme from 1966 and that lady stood up in front of the group and told us it was the year she met her husband. She then opened up and spoke about how and where she met her husband, how they went out dancing. It led to a really rich conversation." - Care Home Resident
The project is accessible for all members of the local community. For more information please contact either Richard Dexter, [email protected], or McCauley Snelgrove, [email protected] or call 01482 358371.
