We were delighted to welcome Mark Morton to the Tigers Trust team in February!

Since the lockdown Mark has been working hard to launch the 'Kicks Breaking the Cycle' programme, this project has been funded via the Premier League Charitable Fund and BBC Children in Need. Across the country this programme looks different at every Club Community Organisation but here in Hull we are going to be supporting young people who are at risk of Child Criminal Exploitation. Mark has been busy making many contacts through phone and email both locally and nationally.

This along with completing lots of online training, attending webinars Mark has been able to build a large bank of resources which he will be able to use when he is engaging with young people.

The project is working closely with Hull City Council’s VEMT team and began receiving referrals a few weeks ago. Mark is keen to start engaging with young people and although initially that will have to be phone contact due to COVID-19 we are hoping this will enable positive relationships to be developed for when we are able to return to ‘normal’ delivery whatever that may look like at the other end.

“I’m very pleased with how Mark has settled in within the Tigers Trust and the work he has done to date, it is not always easy starting a new job especially when three weeks in you’re finding yourself working from home every day as the country was placed into lockdown. He has made some excellent contacts both locally and nationally who are keen to work with us moving forward. Starting up a brand-new project is always quite challenging, and Mark has really impressed me with the progress he has made. This week we will be making initial telephone contact with young people and I believe this will be another project at Tigers Trust which will change young peoples lives. Keep up the great work Mark”
