Pupils relish the chance to represent their school. Competition is also a great way for them to learn some valuable lessons!
The National NPower Girls (U13) Cup was held recently at the KC Stadium involving ten schools from Hull and East Riding. All the teams put in a fantastic effort with Wolfreton Secondary School winning the right to represent Hull City in the Area Finals in Bradford.
The girls finished top of the group stage after playing Middlesbrough, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley. After overcoming Leeds United 3-1 in the semi-finals with a very good performance, they went on to face Hartlepool United in the final. With another fantastic team effort, they were crowned champions of the North/East of England!
We would like to congratulate the girls on a terrific spectacle of football and wish them all the best for the next stage - Regional Finals in Nottingham. If the girls are again successful, they will progress to the National Final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 25th March.
