Football can be a great motivator for raising academic attainment.

Swinemoor Primary School in Beverley have been debating the nations favourite game. Professional football is a great subject, there is plenty of local, national and international news, facts and figures to research. The sport, the business, the fans and the players can all evoke strong opinions.

Pupils from Key Stage Two focused on different subjects:

  • Year 3 & 4 - football injuries
  • Year 5 & 6 - players wages

In the coming weeks, the children will have the opportunity to meet a Hull City player. A question and answer session will conclude the project - a final report will follow.
