Imagine Your Goals

Imagine Your Goals is a health and wellbeing project aimed at people with mental health illness.

The project is funded and supported by the Premier League, Sport Relief and Time to Change and delivered by a number of Professional Football Clubs. There are two key elements to this project, the first is to provide an opportunity for people suffering with mental illness to come together and take part in positive physical activity. The second is to raise awareness of the Time to Change campaign to end the stigma and discrimination faced by those suffering with mental illness.

For the practical sessions, we aim to provide an environment that is friendly, understanding and encouraging. The football club atmosphere will provide participants with a regular opportunity to achieve their personal goals:

  • Improve their fitness
  • Improve their health
  • Learn new skills
  • Overcome challenges

We would welcome anyone over the age 16 to get involved regardless of ability, ethnicity or gender, and whether they suffer with mental illness or not. The weekly activities take place every Tuesday, 1pm-4pm at the KC Stadium astroturf pitches. Currently the sessions involve football training, coaching and competition. Once numbers increase we intend to run a monthly 6-a-side tournament/league and an education class around health and wellbeing.

To raise awareness of the project and campaign we are holding the "Imagine Your Goals Trophy". This 6-a-side tournament will take place on Sunday 6th February on the KC Stadium Astroturf pitches between 1pm–6pm. The tournament is open to everyone! Just get in touch to enter.

We would encourage everyone to pledge your support and help end the stigma surrounding mental health illness, please visit: www.time-to-change.org.uk
