NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK

As part of the National Apprenticeship Week we will be holding an event this coming friday, there is going to be an open door for everyone giving you the opportunity to come and talk to the tutors and meet the current apprentices and see what their views are on the apprenticeship!

Tigers Education Programme for 16-18 year olds

We want to provide you with an opportunity to improve your prospects of a career in sport, health and fitness or youth work.

Why our programme works - you will gain recognised qualifications, you will gain valuable experiences and you will be given the best advice and support to further your development.

The programme involves three levels:

Level 1 - Foundation Learning in Partnership with Hull College

  • 13 weeks
  • 18 hours study
  • Travel allowance £20
  • Qualification - NOCN, Certificate in Progression (Sport & Leisure)
  • Functional Skills - Maths, English, ICT

Level 2 - Apprenticeship in Partnership with Lifeskills

  • 48 weeks
  • 8 hours study
  • 22 hours practical experience
  • Wage £78 per week
  • Qualification - City & Guilds, Certificate in Activity Leadership (L2)
  • Progression - City & Guilds, Certificate in Customer Service (L2)

Level 3 - Apprenticeship in Partnership with Lifeskills

  • 34 weeks
  • 8 hours study
  • 22 hours practical experience
  • Wage £78 per week
  • Qualification - City & Guilds, Certificate in Activity Leadership (L3)

Learners will work alongside experienced Tigers Trust staff on various projects, from health and fitness in schools to social inclusion projects held during the evening.

Possible progressions:

  • Employment with the Tigers Trust
  • Employment within the Sports and Leisure Industry
  • Coaching in Africa or America
  • Further/Higher Education

No formal qualifications are required but learners will need to show motivation, enthusiasm and a willingness to work.
